About me
Introduction
My name is Naoho Kanahele and I was born and raised in Hilo on the island of Hawaiʻi (Mokuokeawe). I grew up in a family that was heavily involved in Hula (hawaiian dance). Hula is and will always be my life. I grew up more around Non-profit businesses through culture and exchange. I was never really aware of the idea of having my own For-profit business until meeting my other half, Kaleo Akau. I grew up thinking that it was something only wealthy people could do. Kaleo walked me through business mindset and work ethic and I absolutely loved it. I loved the idea of financial freedom, giving back to the community I grew up in, being my own boss and in control of my life, and building something of meaning to other small businesses.
A few years later I opened a bookkeeping business after helping my mother-in-law with a few of her accounting clients. I got my certification in Quickbooks online and began accepting clients in 2020. Since then I have learned so much from past and present clients that have helped me grow into a good and reliable business owner.
Why I started this Business
At first, I started this business because I had a natural inclenation to accounting/bookkeeping work and I needed to find a way to financially support our family as a stay-at-home mom........ But now....... I am in this business because I believe I can provide something valuable to my hawaiian community. I can support local families and businesses by walking them through the general systems and requirements of owning Small Business in Hawaii.
I found that my community responds well to local and reliable members, people they feel comfortable communicating and sharing their aspirations with. I feel such an amazing thrill of success when I have given a local business owner clarity and confidence to grow and succeed.
